Wavestones You may recall that Jen and I went to the Therapy Expo a couple of months ago, and one of things we came away with were a couple of tools to help look after our hands, and in particular, our thumbs.

The tools in question are called Wavestones and they are made from White Jade. They are heated gently in warm water and then used in our hands to provide pressure and warmth.
The makers of the wavestone have this to say about it-

‘White Jade is also known as Nephrite, it contains over thirty trace elements. Two vital mineral elements are Calcium and magnesium. In addition, Jade is known as a natural transmitter of far infrared rays in the same wavelength as the human body, and it is known to produce negative ions which encourage cell metabolism.’

All of which sounds a bit like you’ve walked into a Spa… rest assured you have not and we are still very much a sports massage clinic. However, Jen and I have been considering for some time how best we look after our own bodies so that we can continue to look after you, and one of the ways is to occasionally use different tools to take some of the strain off of us. None of the tools available out there will dramatically change the outcome of the treatment we provide, it is simply a different method. Any therapist who says that using something like this will produce superior results to hands alone may be mistaken, as the hands are the original diagnostic and treatment tool. But, like your muscles, sometimes they get tired.

We are lucky enough that this has not happened to us yet, but we are future proofing ourselves so that we can still be here for you.
Want us to use them in your next appointment? Then just ask when you arrive and let us know what you think.

Get yourself booked in sooner rather than later, appointments are filling up fast.

Thank you for taking time to read this week’s blog – Wavestones.
